Dual Language Info Meetings - 9 a.m. on Wed., Jan. 21, at Eastview and 6 p.m. on Thu., Jan. 22, at WPHS

The White Plains City School District will hold Dual Language Program informational meetings for families of incoming kindergarten students. The first meeting will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, in room 118 at Eastview Middle School. The second meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, in the White Plains High School Media Center. Join to learn more about the Dual Language Program! Meetings will be bilingual.

Controlled Parents’ Choice Kindergarten Registration opens January 12

The window for Controlled Parents’ Choice Kindergarten Registration for the White Plains City School District opens on Monday, January 12, and continues through Tuesday, February 27. Registration is available to White Plains children born in 2021 and those eligible to register for kindergarten in the 2026-2027 school year.

Holiday carolers from Highlands make first stop of White Plains tour at district office

Highlands Middle School’s Select Choir and Jazz Band brought the holiday spirit to the district office this morning as the first stop on their holiday caroling tour. The students, led by music teachers Michele Davila, Timothy Veeder and Jennifer Irlen, also visited NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital to sing to patients and the food court at The Westchester. 

Rochambeau Alternative High School students teach and mentor younger students

Students at Rochambeau strengthen their school community and get career experience by volunteering right at their school. In the morning, students visit the Head Start Universal Prekindergarten classes to help support their students. In the afternoon, students in Dr. Steven Chetcuti’s Introduction to Programming and Computational Thinking class have been helping teach fifth graders who take classes at Rochambeau through the Board of Cooperative Education Services (BOCES).

 
 
George Washington, Mamaroneck Avenue schools celebrate inclusivity

George Washington and Mamaroneck Avenue schools joined all elementary buildings this week in celebrating Inclusive Schools Week, which features different daily themes that honor “every student’s right to learn in an environment that supports diverse needs, embraces unique abilities and fosters a sense of belonging.”
